Funeral Services

The Islamic Society of Akron & Kent owns a section of the Northlawn Memorial Gardens (Islamic Gardens). The address of the cemetery is 4724 State Rd, Peninsula, OH 44264.

Upon Death

In the event of a death, or if a family member is receiving hospice care, please contact ISAK Funeral Services as soon as possible to begin arrangements. Our team will coordinate the timely transfer and dignified pickup of the deceased from the home, hospital, hospice facility, or medical examiner.

ISAK Funeral Services will arrange for the Islamic ritual washing (Ghusl) and shrouding in accordance with Islamic guidelines, performed with the utmost respect and care. We will also begin all required administrative processes, including preparation and filing of the burial permit and death certificate.

Additionally, we will coordinate and schedule the Janazah (funeral) prayer and burial service, working closely with the family to ensure all religious and logistical needs are met. Optional condolence (ta’ziyah) services may also be arranged for the bereaved family at the ISAK Center, if desired.
