Join the Akron Area Interfaith Council (AAIC) and ISAK in raising funds for the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. For 17 years, AAIC has hosted the Hunger Walk to support efforts addressing food insecurity in our community. This year, we invite you to walk with us in support of our neighbors in need.
Food insecurity in Summit County continues to rise, now at 14.8%, with child food insecurity at 21%, meaning 1 in 5 children face hunger. With ongoing funding cuts, the need is greater than ever. All proceeds go directly to the food bank.
As Muslims, giving is more than charity, it is an act of ‘ibadah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be their charity” (Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 604).
